TASTE OF ASIA

Join us for a celebration of Asian American Heritage month at Taste of Asia, the first Asian-focused food festival in Pittsburgh! We’re bringing together some of the best Asian restaurants in the city to showcase their mouth-watering dishes. Come and sample bites from Shanghai Tokyo, Chengdu Gourmet 2, Zen Asian Diner, and Essence.

Here is the list of yummy food items to choose from: California roll, Spicy California roll, Philadelphia roll, Tuna roll, Spicy tuna roll,  Salmon roll, Spicy salmon roll, Green salad, Chicken lo mein,  beef lo mein, Vegetable pad thai, 
Shrimp pad thai, Sambosa, Briyani, Chatt Potatoe, Chicken noodle, Bo Bo chicken, spice beef, Pineapple mooncake and more!  All menu items are subject to change according to availability.

Two items from each restaurant vendor, one snack from Snackever, and a dessert from Amy’s Bakery are included with the admission ticket, additional items are available for purchase.  Limited bar tables with chairs will be provided during the event.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 5:30 – 8:30 PM at the Pittsburgh Playhouse downtown. It’s the perfect opportunity to gather with friends and family and experience a wide variety of Asian cuisine all in one place.

Adding fun to the atmosphere

To add to the atmosphere, jazz by the Jenny and Nathan Wilson Duo will accompany the evening hours 5:30pm to 8:30pm of the festival, providing the perfect backdrop to your dining experience.

Asian pop and traditional songs by Ziyi Wu from 7pm to 7:30pm.  Ms. Wu is a soprano, who is a current graduate student at Duquesne University (Mary Pappert School of Music).  She majored in opera vocal performance and studied with Dr. Meghan DeWald Althouse. 

EVENT ORGANIZER

This event is organized by the Midwest Chinese Chamber of Commerce Pittsburgh Chapter and The Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania, with sponsorship from Visit PITTSBURGH. It’s a unique and exciting collaboration that brings together Asian communities from all over Pittsburgh to share their rich cultural heritage and delicious cuisine.
